- ABOUT US: We started Fun and Function because we couldn’t find kid-friendly sensory tools that would fit our family’s needs. So we channeled our frustration into passion for creating the best sensory tools to help kids (and adults!) thrive
Product Description
-
What size vest should I choose?
MEASURE FIRST! Choose the size with a vest circumference 2-4 inches smaller than the wearer’s body circumference. Vests are adjustable at the sides & shoulders, so measurements don’t need to correspond exactly. If a looser fit is preferred, size up.
-
How much weight should I insert into the vest pockets?
Around 5-10% of the wearer’s body weight is a common standard; never exceed 15%. Each vest comes with 2lb of weight included (the XXS comes with only 1lb). Additional Fun and Function Vest Weights are available on Amazon if needed.
-
Is this vest really machine washable?
Yes! Make sure to remove the weights from the inner pockets before washing. Then adhere all closures and wash on a gentle cold cycle. Hang to dry.
-
How long can the vest be worn at one time?
It’s best to consult with your child’s occupational therapist. However, a good rule of thumb is approximately 20-30 minutes of every hour.
-
What’s the proper way to put on the vest?
Attach the hook-and-loop closures at both shoulders and place the vest over child’s head. Secure one side at a time, adjusting tightness as needed. Finally, adjust the shoulder straps as needed.
